It's very very unlikely that it grows faster than the species as a whole. Otherwise much of the forests would look more like it. My specimen is newer, perhaps two years old but when I can, I'll try and put up a photo or two. It's certainly NOT a fast grower so far.

I second that. Mine has been in the ground for maybe five years and is at best only 6' tall. My 'Atlanta', which has probably been in the ground less time and got fried back to the ground the second year it was in is pushing 10' so much faster.
