It's a great plant, Dave. I really like this cultivar. Also, a grouping could be used as a nice hedge!

Dave, something happened to that specimen in the past.
Probably it's leader got damaged and it started to make several instead.
You've to do some surgery if you want to avoid snow damage in the future...cut the two "side leaders" off and you'll see that it will recover after a while.

I don't understand that such ugly/not true to it's shape plants will come on the market.
If I had such, they went straight to the dump pile...

Dave, I didn't know in advance that you're so ashamed of your bad looking specimen that you removed the pic of it after 2 days...

joy...I'll put it back. The lack of interest was the culprit. I really wasn't ashamed of it. I have never seen it for sale in my area before and I am redesigning a area where it will fit well.

Yes it's suppose to become conical as it ages. It will surrender to my Felco's and some day look like yours.

By the way a Buchholz offering. Evidently Talons standards don't quite measure up to yours. Your friend right?

You're handy enough to prune it in the right shape, the plant will do the rest...

I know Talon, and he knows me.
We both visited eachothers nurseries in the past.
Indeed, this time there's a difference in quality :0)
