Abies nordmanniana 'Silver Del'

Creamy Silver foliage year round. Seems to handle full sun in the PNW (where many yellow/white cultivars will burn due to lack of humidity)

Named after the color and our area of the world (Silver Falls, Silver Crest, In Silverton, OR) And my Grandfather, Delbert Hupp, founder of Drakes Crossing Nursery, who passed away last June. This was found in one of his fields.

Many thanks to a family friend of ours, Bob Fincham, who helped me with the name. I couldn't of thought of a better one myself.

I have been propagating it for about 3 years now. What I have now will be going into the ground as stock plants for the future. So it will still be a few years before it makes its rounds.

Just now getting around to the name. I guess I am picky. I honestly think I was waiting for the perfect name.

As Christmas Trees, all leaders are cut and then staked to stay straight. Keeps them fuller. I would like to see its form without as much pruning though.

If you look in the background, all the others are done the same.
