I am in zone 7, and I was at a nursery on Sunday. Most of those trees looked dead, all brown, but they had a few swelling buds on them showing the bluish green color. The guy at the nursery said grower said not to give up on then until mid-June. You are in a colder zone, so atleast wait until the end of the month.

I'm a newbie here so I can't answer your question. But last weekend I saw several big box stores in my area (zone 5 - MI) selling various sizes and shapes of Cedrus atlantica and Cupressus ÃÂ leylandii (Leyland cypress). I believe both of those trees are rated at Zone 6 minimum, so why they sell them in Zone 5 I don't know. That's asking for trouble.

Last winter was very tough and cold here so no way would either of those trees have survived it.

My glauca had a rough winter here ,but like my other Cedrus they have active buds and appear to be recovering well.
