Borer Holes in Pines

I've noticed quite a few borer holes in a couple of my Pinus flexilis.

Only by chance though as I've noticed the pine dust clumping by the pine sap.

After reading about various pine borers I'm assuming these are the eggs and the adults will emerge this summer.

Am I better off burning them now or do the adults actually emerge next spring?

I plan to replace them either way but not until fall. So I can cut em down now and stare at a gaping hole all summer but only want to so if I'm going to stop their existence.

Just yank em and burn them. What's the difference you know? Stop the spread to others.....
