Pinus nigra 'Wheatridge Gold'

It's in full sun, and some needles are burning a bit.

I wonder if it would do better with a little less sun.

Sluice,

I'd give it a bit more shade.

Can you tell us a little more about the history on this one? I remember you posting about the find this past winter.

I like it. Reminds me of my thunbergii 'Banshosho' Keith

I realy like this one Nate and I'm also glad that you gave it a proper cultivar name.

More shadow in the hot afternoon hours will be much better for conifers with such a needle colour.
It should be treathed like a Picea orientalis 'Skylands' and Tom Thumb Gold'...

Nice coloration! And naturally dwarf?

Wasn't this plant part of a pre-existing landscape? Is it possible it already has a different name assigned to it?

Keith, yep, I first saw this pine in January, a local urban conifer.

Edwin, thanks for the tip on siting this plant.

Sam, I'm not sure how long it's been at that location. It looks naturally dwarf, but time will tell for sure. It will be interesting to see how this one does under propagation. It's possible that it already has a different name assigned to it. I checked first with a few conifer experts to try and rule that out. ;)

Looks great! It may be a bit of a big job to move.
