koraiensis is my absolute fave pine ... and i think i would prefer you enjoy one.. and get rid of it in 20 years or so ... rather than skip them entirely ...

i am blanking if there are dwarf varieties ...

if you want to increase the years of your enjoyment.. go about half that size ... saving the dough would make me very happy alone ... lol ... $30 mail order at one foot tall ... at the kingdom ....

ps: pines put out whorls ... the leader has one center bud... surrounded by a varying number of others.... you can age a pine.. by counting whorls.. and you can SEE the annual growth ... by the space between whorls ... on your pic ... dead center.. just below the tag... it looks like it grew.. with no scale.. one foot or more .. yes.. that is slow for a pine ... but that is not insignificant ... though it might have been hyper fert'd to push it to market.. though that looks about right for this plant.. once it gets established ... and growing

Totally agree on botanical names being more precise but the search engines, particularly Google, have such sophisticated algorithms now that you often get virtually the same results no matter which you search. Which is one reason that the constant back and forth elsewhere about how crape myrtle is spelled is not very productive, since common names have no authoritative body and can be spelled any way one chooses. Once Google realizes that two words or expressions are de facto synonymous, no distinction is made.

If thats a 3 gallon pot, I suggest you run. If its 6 gallon might be worth a looksy.

I have Morris Blue which is very similar, supposed to be more dense. Very nice plants.

It would be a great pine choice for your area.
