Picea x mariorika

Picea x mariorika are a hybrid between Picea mariana and Picea omorika.

This hybrid have a caracteristics of the parents, fine needles ,gray/green like Picea mariana,with silvery underside like Picea omorika. And a small cones like the parents.
By this way, the cv. "machala" are not a Picea mariorika ! but probably a cv from other hybrid.

ClÃÂ©ment, imo the 'Machala' has something to do with Picea jezoensis.
It's the same one as Picea alcoquiana 'Prostrata', which also isn't true to it's species.

Like ClÃÂ©ment stated before, the Picea jezoensis flushes out first, when it's growth is completed, the Picea alcoquiana wil follow to start to flush...
The 'Prostrata' will flush out in the same time as the Picea jezoensis does, also in a blue colour.
A Picea alcoquiana and a Picea x mariorika will flush out in a green colour...
