Will, the 'Mountain Blue' at your pic is the correct cultivar name.
The species does have green needles.

The 'Mountain Blue' was found and introduced by the Buchholz Nursery.
Talon found it in the high elevations in the mountains of Mexico.

that's an outstanding specimen, Will. I like how you've started to trick out the neighborhood. Over time, the whole place will be an arboretum.

Whats up with the planting location? Might want to give him a nudge to relocate it this fall or next spring otherwise you are taking it back!lol!

Thanks Dave, Will and Edwin. I mentioned it would eventually become very large here and my neighbor stated it was OK. Perhaps I should have told him it would become enormous, not very large! The goodnews is that it seems readily graftible and I can always obtain some scion wood.

Abies delavayi var. georgei(probably anyways), was listed Abies delavari var. delavari.
