I just noticed today that the trees are starting to so stress color. Scary.

I can't see my brown grass for all the brown betula nigra leaves on the ground.

We've have had rain every day for weeks on end it seems. It's easy on some dark days to think it's September.

Our drought stress here is only moderate, but I'm getting the autumn effect from silver maple due to some kind of leaf spot, and on black walnut due to a white borer grub of some kind in the base of the petiole.

I have some juvenile redbuds that are looking autumny.
A few Cornus florida have gone crispy in places- and I have watered a lot. I just have so many large, mature trees that suck everything up.

Actually, it feels more like November. On Tuesday, it didn't get above 11�C, it was warmer last Christmas.

Is easy to forget that some people are really suffering with floods. It seems the Jet Stream has halted in wide meanders and we're north of it. Why has it halted? 'It's still a baby science, we don't really know'...

I woke up to fog this morning after a lightning storm last night. All things considered, we are doing pretty good climate wise.
Rain is desperately needed in the midwest or farmers will lose their crops. It's already too late in some cases. There is a lot more summer left.
Resin, that's a lot of water. Have you had any summer yet?

So THAT is where all our water is! We got an estimated .89 inches last night, with a chance of a little more later today, but it probably isn't going to be enough to save all the corn.

I must be a true snowbird. I'd take 50s/60s anyday over 90s/100s.
