I bought Abies koreana 'Horstmann Silberlocke' last month and I live in zone 4b, I am anxious for hardiness of this conifer for next winter. Anyone has this kind of conifer in the same zone or close to 4b, I would like to hear about your winter experience with this conifer?

Last winter was brutal here with NOAA temps stating -18 twice. My established 2.5' Horstmann's Silberlocke has none damage.

The ones I've seen up here around Mpls/St. Paul have some that will probably take another year or two to cover up. These were all in wind/sun exposed locations if that was the culprit.

I have a 2' specimen in the ground 2 years with no damage and a 5' in the ground for 4 years no damage.

They where very late to bud out though, more so than usual...like talking budding out with the pines.

I had more damage from the 2012 heat and drought...at least on the one.
