Pinus strobus for Dianne

Pinus strobus 'Dianne's Soft Shoulders' is a prostrate seedling selection from 'Pendula' with a bluish cast to its foliage. It will drape itself over a wall or down a slope. It was originally named 'Soft Shoulders' but has never been introduced. I added Dianne's name to it for a number of reasons. She came up with the original name herself.

I expect to have some available spring, 2015 for sale. It will only be available with Pinus strobus 'Bob's Whiskers' when I offer it. (Shown in another thread).

Wow, what an interesting plant! And a fitting tribute...

What are the growth rates for 'Diane's Soft Shoulders' and 'Bob's Whiskers'? It would also be very interesting to hear about where and when they were discovered, etc.

Can I reserve the Bob/Diane duo now? :o) Also, it's nice to know you'll be doing mail-order for several more years at least.

Obvious must haves both for sentimental value and the pure beauty of these pines. What a great tribute to a woman who no doubt used those soft shoulders for all her life with you. She would be very happy indeed to know such a plant will live on in her legacy paired with your own pine.

Doug- I will be setting a few pairs aside for some donations when they become available.

SSCC and O.G. are on the list.

Alex- send me an email and I'll print it and put it into a reserved folder. Customer service and shipping departments are now my responsibility and will take a lot of getting used to. I expect to start taking some interest in the nursery again after the 24th celebration.
