i do not believe .... in mangling things ..... to fit in a space.. either they fit.. or they are removed ... if you are putting in a new conifer bed.. you can do so much better with this space.. than messing around with an aged.. overgrown... plant ...

as to moving an 8 footer... lets think about a minimum 2 foot root mass.. that will easily be a hundred pounds.. plus tree ... it simply isnt worth it ....

but if you want to.. go for it.... worse that can happen.. is it dies ...

Sound advice. I ALWAYS start by trying to save my plants rather than replace them. They are big, healthy and have survived so much. I respect that. Silly, perhaps.

The atio pavers will likely get damaged with trying to move this plant, so that really oesnt make sense. The prices at Girard ar awesome. So, I'll get another, and just have more! i'll try pruning the overgrown Yellow Ribbon since it is not yet too drastically overgrown. If it doesn't work, I'll adopt your more practical attitude and remove it.
