When you deal with the many rare cultivars as Will and I along with others are doing it's just part of the gardening experience.

We all hate to loose them and it's always the ones that are special that take the hit.

Sometimes I think we take these plants to the edge of their capabilities and for the most part they don't survive. I am guilty of that.

I am not suppose to grow Pseudotsuga menziesii here in my Eastern KS climate. My cultivar of 'Graceful Grace' put that notion to bed and many visitors are astonished it does so well here.

Micro-climate and after care are two important factors for achieving success for those wanting to take a chance. Of course there are limitations and you need to be aware of them. Said Kenny, "If you're gonna play the game, boy, ya gotta learn to play it right. / You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em".
