I'm not a species specialist but I've seen this one written in a differend way as Pseudotusga lindleyana...

In the net I can also only find lindleyana.Unfortunately Welch,Farjon, van Gelderen do not mention this rare species in my books.

Yep, Pseudotsuga lindleyana is the correct spelling (named after John Lindley).

Seen it both in the wild in Mexico and in cultivation in Britain (under the synonym P. macrolepis). It is a much smaller tree than P. menziesii, only up to around 25m tall, and fairly thin, sparsely foliaged, but distinct from P. menziesii subsp. glauca in its greener, less upcurved leaves. Cones very attractive, dark purple with large yellow/green bracts. There's a good account in the New Trees book.
