Yes should do well. In its natural range, Picea wilsonii also co-inhabits and Picea wilsonii grows at The US National Arboretum.

Getting the true plant may be a bit of a challenge unless seed-grown. Picea asperata and meyeri in the trade are usually Picea asperata.

I myself tried a Picea asperata, with which this species is apparently sometimes confused. The color was an odd sea green, not like CBS but not like any other conifer I've seen either. It was like a 1/2 way mix of CBS and Norway spruce if you can imagine that. I actually could have gone for it, as long as the overall form of the plant was pleasing. Which was a question mark: unlike the Abies I've gotten from forestfarm, it never grew very vigorously. It stayed a spindly little runt for years. Finally I moved it to a sunnier spot it was already in a death spiral I think, and it died. Probably should have given it a better spot from the start. OTOH Abies ernestii is thriving in an equally shady area, but then that's known as one of the most shade tolerant Pinaceae besides hemlocks, probably.
