Arborvitae still healthy?

I planted a row of 30 green giant arborvitae 2 years ago this September. 1 of the 30 didn't survive the summer last year, so I replaced it 1 year ago. The replacement tree clearly doesn't look the same as the trees that have been there for 2 years. I'm wondering if the tree is still healthy and if there's anything I should be doing to help it do well.

that tree is not as well established as the ones.. that have been there a year longer ...

so it seems like august in NJ has made it droop a bit..

all you need to do.. is INSURE.. that it has moisture thru the root mass you planted.. get down in there.. and dig a small hole and find out.. 3 to 6 inches down ...

otherwise.. patience man ...

and no... it does not need to be fed.. it is not a child.. nor educated.. nor bathed.. etc ...

proper water ...

ps: in a year or two.. all of them will be taking some of whatever makes that lawn so lush .... speaking of which.. that lawn looks irrigated.. and that is not sufficient.. for a recent transplant.. see above as to guidance ...

You're right, I've been relying on the lawn irrigation to water the trees. I actually dug a hole a few days ago to check the soil. It felt a little damp, but definitely not wet. What should it look/feel like?
