Word of caution on iconic. Make sure you buy 3 year or younger plants. He does not up-pot. 4 year plants in a 2.5 qt container just doesn't work, especially pines and the larger growing plants.

I hardly order 4 year plants, but that's good to know for future orders. I try to order on the younger side (2-3 years). When I think 4+ year old plants I think 2+ gallon pots... Seems like to much work putting those in the ground lol

FWIW I get the impression they've both curtailed somewhat in recent years.

As I've already said, Colesville Nursery has some rare to semi-rare conifers (I got my coveted weeping Juniperus recurva/coxii there) and their inventory is online and updated daily. Just a little over 2 hours from DC, if the traffic gods are smiling on you.

BTW for rare hollies - the honorary conifers - McLean Nursery in Towson could well be the best nursery in the world. You could find almost everything they have - that's worth having - at various UK nurseries, but not all at the same place.

Conifer Kingdom has a great website! They seem to be lacking in my favorite conifer genus, Cedrus, however.

I have to agree with scpalm.......go see Brant at Susanna Farm Nursery...He's one of the best sources in the area, with-out a doubt. Well worth a day trip.
