| Hello!
Could you please tell me whether the tree I have growing in my front yard is the monkey puzzle tree or some other tree of the same family? I thought it was but after looking at some more pictures and descriptions I'm not too sure. The leaves are not spiky to feel and quite soft/i.e not bruise or hurt if brushed against your skin. | I don't think it is an Araucaria at all. Definitely not araucana and doesn't look like muelleri to me either. |

| Very interesting, strange tree. I think it's an Araucaria but definitly not araucana. It's not easy to find it out, because a lot of Araucarias have very similar ( young and ) adult needles. Next week I will get back my book about Araucarias. Maybe there is an answer. Wolfgang |

| Looks like it may need a permanent support. If it were mine I would also inspect the two trunks that appear to be wrapped around one another, with a view toward possibly cutting one of them off. |
|
| LEAVES ON ARAUCARIA ARAUCANAS GO UPWARD OR POINT UP TOWARD THE END OF THE BRANCH. JEEZ, FROM THE BARK, SIZE AND SHAPE IT LOOKS LIKE IT COULD BE AN ACACIA ? |
|
| Thanks everyone :) Wolfgang, I shall eagerly await an update from you. Meanwhile I'll take some better pictures of the tree, leaves and trunk and post it here. Novice Gardener |

| I have an Araucaria muelleri and it is totally different. The branching structure, foliage and bark are not Araucaria-like. Better photos will confirm that this is something else. |
|
| Here is a close up view of the top of the leaf. I've taken lots of pictures and attached a link below. Hopefully this should make it easier for you to tell me what it is. The leaves smells lovely when crushed. |
