Hy,

I am wondering if there is a true Cedrus libani 'Pendula' or is there a mix-up and only Cedrus atlantica Glauca pendula exists and they are sometimes selled as weeping libanon cedar?

    If Edwin says so...

There is a cultivar named Cedrus libani 'Sargentii' as well which could be either the same plant or something very similar to Cedrus libani 'Pendula'.

The common thing is various weeping Himalayan cedars being sold as weeping Cedar-of-Lebanon. 'Glauca Pendula' Atlas cedar is too distinctive to be a part of this.

The one at my pic is a true Cedrus libani 'Pendula' which is totaly differend from the Cedrus libani 'Sargentii'.
Cedrus deodara 'Pendula' does have longer needles then the Cedrus libani 'Pendula'...

Another thing is that the true name for the Cedrus libani 'Pendula' is Cedrus libani var. atlantica 'Pendula' while the Cedrus libani 'Sargentii' is a true Cedrus libani cultivar...
By far these have nothing to do with eachother.

    Look at the link.
There is a Cedrus atlantica 'Glauca Pendula' and a Cedrus libani 'Glauca Pendula'.

    Benjamin, we discussed this before.
The last pic isn't a Cedrus libani 'Glauca Pendula' but a Cedrus deodara 'Glauca Pendula'.
May be this was before you became a member of this forum.

Btw where in Germany do you live?

Yes, the last two forms shown on the Lone Elder table linked to above are examples of Himalayan cedar clones much sold erroneously as weeping forms of Cedar-of-Lebanon.

What I reed there is nothing new to me, I'm doing this all day long but then only in the conifer field ;0)

Which special conifers did you collect in the meanwhile?

Sounds good what you are doing :)
    I have:

    - Abies alba 'Barabits Star'
    - Araucaria araucana
    - Cedrus libani 'Sargentii'
    - Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Intertexta', 'Imbricata Pendula'
    - Cryptomeria japonica 'Tansu'
    - Larix kaempferi 'Stiff Weeper'
    - Metasequoia glyptostroboides 'Bluish', 'Matthaei'
    - Picea omorika 'Pendula Bruns'
    - Pinus aristata 'Schneverdingen'
    - Pinus schwerinii 'Wiethorst'
    - Sciadopitys verticillata 'Sternschnuppe'
    - Sequoia sempervirens 'Loma Prieta Spike'
    - Sequoiadendron giganteum 'Barabits Requiem'
    - Taiwania cryptomerioides
    - Taxus baccata 'Graciosa Pendula'
    - Thuja standishii

Most of them are still potted. I also have some 'hard-to-find' deciduous trees, like Ulmus glabra 'Nana' and Fraxinus excelsior 'Abiona'. At least they are hard to find where i come from.

Nice list of conifers and all written in the good way!
The only additional is to put a "x" mark at the Pinus schwerinii (x) 'Wiethorst', because it's a cross...

Stock of 'Beacon Hill' seen here is clearly the same clone or at least type as the Beacon Hill planting of Cedrus deodara 'Repandens'.
