Cedars turning brown

My neighbours Cedar trees are turning brow from the ground up. They are blaming me for the damage due to my spraying for weeds. I haven't sprayed that area at all so I need to know if there are some other reasons or causes for this to happen. These 12 foot Cedars have also been planted in their plastic pots, could this have something to do with it??

cedars is kind of a catchall ... first we need to ID the plant ...

and we can do that with pix.. as well as get a better idea of the situation ...

also tell us where you are ... how bad was last winter???

12 foot plants in pots.. have to be in huge pots.. and need to be repotted often.. as the media wears out ... but i still want to see a pic ...
