Will's Hobbiton Gardens and Albers Vista Garden were on the WR tour program yesterday - what an incredible pair of conifer collections. Hobbiton, of course, is legendary, but the photos don't do it justice. It was like visiting a well-designed and well-curated museum display, and we all came away marveling at what Will has accomplished.
Albers Vista is an older garden on a steep lot overlooking the Sound, with mature conifers, Japanese maples and shrubs, guarded by a towering Sequoia sempervirens. Simply beautiful, with a sense of serenity and calm.
Today we visit Glacier's End and Coenosium.
And kudos to Dave for running the auction of a lifetime. I snagged a fabulous Pinus longaeva 'Sherwood Compact' and a Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Filip's Golden Tears'!
