How heat tolerant?
Probably not very. It grows at very high elevations. Picea morrisonicola can be found somewhat lower.
I know you want to try true firs, but Keteleerias should do really well and are "fir-like". Also, try Pseudotsuga wilsoniana.
I've been looking for Keteleeria forever, even tried seed from different sources. Pseudotsuga sinensis is the same as Pseudotsuga wilsoniana right? Any ideas for a source for Picea morrisonicola? Can't seem to find it anywhere.
Yes pseudostuga willsoniana is really synoms withsinensis I have both here and they are almost thesame.
