trees roots will be well below groundcover..

not an issue ....

especially new conifers ...

and that goes for trees and shrubs also ...

no groundcover is going to out-compete such

Add some large rocks to the mix and could could get a real nice sub-alpine look.

Good news then! I will use it as planned. Do you cut back the flowers after they have bloomed. I will have quite a bit of it. I cut back on the small patch I now have just wondering if necessary? Thanks to all for your comments. I was hoping it would be nice I just love snow in summer!

Flowers die back to nothing.

This is a ground cover that like lots of water in the summer time and a good performer if left alone.

I was hoping you would post a picture! Thanks. It is very beautiful indeed! I was out today putting some in around the beds. I just cut some from existing plants and it roots and will do well. Such an easy plant for me.

Just ordered 5000 seeds on Amazon for $9.99 including shipping. I will plant them in the Spring. Sounds like a lot, but they say it covers 100 square feet. That is not such a large plot and certainly enough to make a statement along the wooded roadside where I plan to plant them.
