Well I went out and stopped them but we already used the watersorb for the first 13 trees so hopefully I have not made a fatal mistake with those.

I will not use it with the final 27.

No, you'd do better with regular snake oil.

I'll admit I've planted in late November in Zone 5 and everything made it. You'll be ok. :)
