Brown needles falling off on newly planted Weeping Gold Drift

Hey guys,

I have a newly planted 3 ft Weeping Gold Drift which has some brown needles falling off. I don't recall if the needles were brown when I planted them. I planted the tree a few days ago. Should I be concerned?

I watered the tree well after I planted it and I put mulch on top. I used the native soil and I took some darker soil from another part of my backyard which I added when I planted the tree. The soil is not sandy.

The tree gets full sun except for a portion of the back which is in light shade. I checked the soil and it is still moist since I planted the tree. I never added any bumper crop, should I? I planted the tree about an inch higher than the outside ground.

The reason I'm concerned is because I lost a small weeping Gold Drift during the summer when we were having 80 and 90 degree temperatures. I don't want to lose this one and I'm worried.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
