Four years of Picea abies 'Suncrest'

Undoubtedly one of my favorite Norway spruce, this small gem is a slow grower, perhaps an inch or two a year(2-3 cm) and has exceptional different season appeal with soft green new growth, maturing into a multicolored appearance similar to Picea omorika.

It's a plant I can't recommend any stronger to any gardener or conifer grower alike.

Full sun is a must for this beautiful effect.

i had a suncrest plant for quite a few years.. wondering when it was going to turn yellow.. to fulfill its name.. before someone told me.. its a nursery name.. rather than some pun on gold coloration ... lol ..

anyway ... glad to have you back ... nice plant ....

Very Nice, Unique color for Picea abies.. even nicer, because Picea abies grows well around here! Great to have you posting here again These "4 year threads" have always been great reference points for me.

I'd agree this is one of the nicest looking dwarf Picea abies (non gold varieties).

My dog crushed my original but put in a replacement 2 years ago. Must have!

Conifer Kingdom has bp for $20, good buy for an early spring shipment.
