Great place! What are all the yeller fleurs?

I thought they were perennial sunflowers- I have already have some but looking close I see that these are different. These have smooth wide almost rubbery leaves. I would like to know too. I will go back and collect some seed later. I hope it doesn't need to live in water.

Thanks Fairfield. I'm no expert on the flora of the deep south, but perhaps if you can zoom in on one of those, I or someone else may be able to ID it.

Love the bald cypress. They sure have some nicely buttressed trunks.

Near heaven! Great pics! What am I seeing on the end of some of the branches? Sort of hanging down.
Are the cones ripe yet?

scotjute, Many look like that I don't know exactly what it is, I assume it is just weepy foliage. I haven't looked for cones, you gotta be careful about the snakes- go out when it is cold! Even then I've seen snakes sunning when it was in the 50's, They're pretty slow then however. This is a city park on a bayou leading into Cross Lake in Shreveport. Nice to look at but I don't want to be right on the water. I will go look for some cones and take a pic of the yellow flowers sometime today.
