I've recently acquired some seeds from Tasmania. Most of them are conifers and have germination instructions in line with other conifers from temperate zones. That is: soak the seeds, cold stratify for a month or three, and plant in well-drained medium.
Phyllocladus aspleniifolius, however has instructions which say it can be planted right away, but that it usually grows on rotting wood and needs inoculated soil for best results. The tips on inoculation say that the germination medium should be mixed with soil obtained from an adult of the same species.
Has anybody grown P. aspleniifolius (or any Phyllocladus species)? Any alternatives for inoculation?
