WOW! Looks like alot more snow than we see in early storms. Is that typical for late October? Ummm, I think, maybe, your conifers are very nice. Not really sure, though, under all the white :)

Brrrrr! I'm much happier with the nice mild 14° here ;-) Surprising how much snow the Nootka Cypress is holding on its slender shoots. And I'd not be surprised if 'Arnold Sentinel' becomes 'Arnold Open Arms' hereafter . . . Resin

That Resin is what we call a light dusting here! I'll bet the mountains are being flocked. Dax

snug as a bug in a rug ... though snow cover avoids winter sun in the short stuff ... do you have a plan to gently knock off the excess of the bigger stuff ....??? did CO get the 18 inches the national media has been spewing about for the last week .... or did they fail us again ... darn fear mongers .... ken

I heard over 3 ft. in some locations! Simply awesome. +oM

Oh no ! Not yet !!! This reminds me of the 18" we had at the beginning of december last year - way ahead of the 'normal' program. Hope you got everything planted in time. T.

According to weather reports, this was the biggest October snowstorm since 1997. Local accumulation totals include: 30 inches in Evergreen 42 inches in Conifer 46 inches in Pinecliffe ;) Regarding snow removal, after much consideration my plan is to leave it be. Hopefully most or all will melt in the next few days, and there will still be time to plant a few more in '09! |

That's pretty incredible. We've yet to see a hard frost here and indeed many Japanese maples(and other deciduous trees) are still showing their summer greens. I grew up in Minn/Wisconsin, and at times I miss the consistent snow-storms. We're lucky to get snow at all here.
