P. pungens glauca pendula vs. the blues

Hi, In your experience are there major distinctions between Picea pungens glauca pendula and the blues or are their color and structure quite similar (I know the blues came from glauca pendula). I'm wondering because a lot of the plants I've seen are hard to tell apart, I've even seen photos of the same plant labeled as both. Do you have a preference? Is it a "must" to have both or is either fine by itself? I know sometimes we like 5 of the same thing but if there isn't much of a difference between them I'd prefer to stick to one, P. pungens people please respond...;-)

I have both.

'Glauca Pendula' wins hands down. It needs to be staked to achieve this look.

Wow Dave, that really is a living work of art! What are the two other green trees in the background to the right? They're also beautiful.

I intended to show you 'The Blues' but did not have a photo in my album that I am reconstructing.

So now we have one.

This one is also staked for height but probably 6-8 years younger then 'Glauca Pendula' but the differences are evident.

The other two cultivars are Picea abies 'Reflexa' on left. Cupressus nootkatensis 'Green Arrow' to the right.

Update: After seeing so many beautiful examples like Dave's above I've decided to keep my Picea abies 'Reflexa' staked. I'm using Cedrus libani 'Sargentii' as my ground creeper. I also took his advice and got glauca pendula, what a beauty! Happy Growing!

Dave what is the Ginkgo to the left of the Picea? Do you know how old it is?

Ginkgo biloba 'Spring Grove'. A witches broom found at the Spring Grove Arboretum.

I planted it 10 years ago. I am thinking 15 years old.

An ideal focal point in the small garden or rockery and perfect for where I planted it. A great compact upright grower with little girth.

That last picture makes me wanna cry! Even the grass looks perfect.
I actually clicked the link after posting this comment and saw all your labelled photos. So, now I know what all the trees are.
Are all the tall ones in this picture about the same age? How old are they?
