Ponderosa, narrow form
Ponderosa broom
Spruce (engelmann?)
Pseudotsuga menziesii, yellow tint
Pinus ponderosa, compact habit
P. ponderosa, I couldn't tell if this is one tree or two?
Photo from interpretive sign, circa 1907
The building today, restored as a historical site. Most of the other buildings are now gone.
A nice Abies concolor. Probably a landscape planting? It didn't seem to be growing natively in this locale.
Foliage
I see these P. ponderosa types once in a while, it looks like it could be a weeping form?

| Resin, mostly silver and gold. Jason, you prolly would! ps. maybe you could try this touring company I've read so much about, they show a strong interest in conifers. They go by the name "Kerala" and it's possible they have a Colorado conifer tour package ;) |

| Sluice...thanks again for taking time to post your photos. I always enjoy them. Beautiful old building. I wonder why they would ruin the ascetic value and originally of that building by putting the electrical meter box and mast on the front. Either side of the building would have been out of the way and more appropriate. Dave |

| I agree Dave. That's pretty fugly. Nate: I think that tree is two seperate trees going from the bark. Thanks again as always, I appreciate it too. Dax |

'mostly' silver and gold...and a few bottles of whiskey + some local girls I would imagine.(That's how it goes in those wonderful American films anyway!) Keep up the pioneering spirit! T. |

There was a large fire in this canyon over the summer. Went back this weekend to check it out. Much of the forest is gone - but it looks like the Ponderosa narrow form is still there.
