New 2009 bud mutation found growing on a Picea glauca in Canada: Picea glauca ('Terry's Variegated'). It's super!

Picea glauca ('Terry's Variegated') doesnt even look like a glauca.. whats that all about....

so are you telling me i have to change the name of this one?? in other words... did he name the one at the natl arb.... or did he rename all plants under the improper name... since i did not get mine from him.. and can not trace its heritage to him.. can i change the name of mine????

It's tight Mark. I won't know the shape for a # of years though nor the speed of growth. It sure looks good though...

RE: Pix Mix 'Pendula's'

Excellent plant Ken! Picea omorika 'Gotelli Weeping' is only supposed to be 3 feet wide when 30' tall. So, I guess your plant is just a great clone of all the 'Pendula' clones roaming around.

I love those picea omorika specimens. Very attractive plants.

RE: Pix Mix

Nice pix Dax but I have to make some small comments (not to bore you but to help you);0)

The true name for the yellow branch mutation of the Picea omorika 'Nana' is 'Pevé Tijn'.
It's found bij Piet =Pe Vergeldt = Vé (together Pevé) from Holland and named after his second son.

The Pinus sylvestris 'Barry Bergman' is found as a white variegated branchmutation on a wildform of Pinus sylvestris.
Your plant doesn't show any white variegation (yet) or was it burned in the sun?
I think you must give it another place with partial shade so the white neeedles don't burn every year.

Pinus mugo 'Alpen Hexe' must be written as 'Alpenhexe'

I hope you will find some good selections of your 'Hetz Wintergreen' seedlings.
Keep us informed!

The Picea glauca 'Terry's Variegated' isn't a bud mutation but a branchmutation.
Witches'brooms derives as a but mutation.
I also like this variegated spruce very much!

Your Cedrus deodara 'Eisregen' looks now like a yellow weeping form but it must grow like a steelblue form without weeping branches.
What happened to this plant?

RE: Pix Mix - Names Corrections

Thanks Edwin.

It rained, and rained, and rained. Otherwise my Cedrus deodar 'Eisregren' would be blue.

Picea glauca Terry's Variegated I agree is a branch mutation... and also thanks for the name corrections.

Pinus sylvestris 'Barry Bergman' has good coloration in the scionwood, at the right time.

Correct name to photos for Google:
Picea omorika 'Pevé Tijn'
Picea omorika 'Peve Tijn' / 'Tijn'

RE: Pix Mix

Clement, I lost track of the scionwood name for that plant so you are probably right. Thank you, Dax

RE: Pix Mix
