Sorry to make you go at the pace of the slowest but could it be explained what the tying around the abies is for? I understand it's for winter protection but is it for snow shedding or a thermal reason?

Severn, these plants are not tied firs:) I use fir branches(from my forest)- strengthened on the bamboo frame, so that they protect the small plants (under abies branches).

In the first, the outer row I planted small rare plants (Sciadopitys, Abies pinsapo, procera...), which I have bought in the summer from Malik nursery (Czech Republic) - rather warm country. In our winter may be up to -30 C cold. During the first winter, foreigners need shelter:))) Also, sometimes the snow is 1 m to 1.50 m deep .... Bamboo poles hold the severity of snow ... Our weather is very inconstant. Frequent thaw, wet snow..... sometimes Siberian cold...:)
