Still planting stuff- not too late?

went to my local nursery today and couldn't resist buying an assortment of new stuff that came in all in the 4ft range- bought some Norway spruce and a baby blue and a few skyrockets. supposed to hit high 60's the next few days so it doesn't seem like November but I know it can change quickly around here (MA). I've never planted this late before usually I am prepping things for winter instead. just curious as to what the cut-off is- after first freeze? I'll be sure to water them in nicely until then of course. anyone else still planting?

another quick question- it gets pretty windy where I am at-should I burlap these for protection, since they are just being placed in the ground and no root system will be established any time soon- or should they be able to tough it out this winter, thanks thetman |

| I go by the rule if I can work the ground and the weather has been fine (it has here) I will plant. I've lost a few things I transplanted during late December once, otherwise it's been clear sailing. Dax |

| Keep them watered up until the ground freezes, assuming it does where you live. I don't think they should need a burlap screen. |

got them in the ground today and soaked them- supposed to be nice this week, so I can water them in some more. glad they are deer resistant- already seeing footprints everywhere-yikes! thetman |
