Dax is right, it's a Chamaecyparis pisifera...

Mike, if your's is white variegated then it changed from 'Silver Lode' into 'Nana Albovariegata'

If your's is yellow variegated, then it changed from 'Gold Dust' into 'Nana Aureovariegata'.

The whole Chamaecyparis pisifera group isn't stable, that's why a lot of mutations and reversions will arise in this species...

I have seen a rockery in Seattle with a row of these in various stages of producing the more tree-like growth. Some hours of research did not yield a clearly applicable, unquestionably correct name for either the original dwarf or the partial reversion. I would be wary of assuming it is as cut and dried as posted above.

in other words.. as far as a name goes.. it was worth what you paid for it.. lol ...

i think.. bboy is suggesting.. that if you were considering putting it into production.. that you will never fully ID it ...

and i will suggest.. naming another variation .. would be silly ...

but i presume that you are concerned about none of that.. so .. here you go ...

the problem with joys suggestions.. is that defining yellow/cream/white ... well .. i could never tell them apart.. OVER THE SEASON ... because the yellow/ gold and fade to cream.. [right before it all burns off in a MI winter .. lol] ....

so that season long observation .. only gets you more confused than you were to start with ... leaving aside the facts that you are PNW.. and how fine things grow for you guys.. compared to others of us ...
