That'll vary with the seed source; expect lower germination rates from isolated cultivated trees, than from natural stands in the wild.

The area where I want to try it has got only dry, hot summers and cold winters.It is located in the borders of Attica with Boetia at mountain Parnitha.During winter fog is a daily phenomenon and during summer the sky is always clear. Local flora supports Quercus pubescens and Abies cephalonica and Juniperus oxycedrus. In summer +36 C are possible and during winter -17 C. Picea pungens glauca is growing there in an excellent way alongside hoopsii.many gardens also have tried Picea abies and is growing really well. In my garden I have got one Picea pungens, two omorika and one abies. Elevation around 700 meters.

Thanks! Probably best to be looking for a streamside site there - in the wild, they always grow along streamsides, and I'd suspect your rainfall is broadly similar (though mostly in winter, whereas they get mostly summer rain in the wild).
