Bed PS -- Patio South -- Cham law's

and how NOT to grow them in z5 ...

they said i could NOT do it ... did i believe them?? nnnnooooooo .. had to give it a try ... cheap little 4 inch pots from Stanley ... they have lasted some years ... seems like solid colors do better ...

again .. IF i have a micro 6 ... this area was it ... removed some giant strobus to the south .. shielded them from winter sun ... and the house from winter wind ... it didnt matter..

these plants have no sense of humor in z5 ...

and the winner is:

Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Treasure Island'

Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Snow White' .. not too bad right next ... east of the house ... never really understood the 'white' part of the name.. since it is ALWAYS blue

Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Silber Star'

{{gwi:862269}}

Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Green Globe' .. another that reminds me of tunilla's post ...

{{gwi:862270}}

Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Blue Surprise' .. the ONLY surprise.. is that it is still alive ... is that an old bboy joke???? .. i think he told me not to be surprised if it died when i moved it ...

{{gwi:862271}}

Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Alumii' ... took a big hit the first winter... and seems to be doing okay 4 years later ... for a lawson in z5, that is ...
