I will have to find where this Leu Gardens place is and perhaps go there sometime. I adore podocarps.

Great picture. Love seeing the Tillandsia (spanish moss) hanging off the background trees...even a clump on the Podocarpus.
Have 3 different Podocarpi myself; must watch placement as susceptible to frost damage.

Yep, a conifer, though it doesn't have cones like a 'traditional' N Hemisphere conifer like a pine, superficially more like a yew 'cone'.

Looks quite similar to Podocarpus salignus, except slightly broader leaves.

I made a post about podocarps they were growing in the student union on my campus. They looked a lot like this though I assumed they were afrocarpus gracilior just because those and P. Macrophylus are the only podocarps you really see in cultivation around here. Growth habit reminds me much more of this, though. Although maybe A. Gracilior does have a similar growth habit.

If you saw this one up close, you would be able to tell the difference from A. gracilior. This species has MUCH larger leaves.
