Life and death of Cupressus cashmeriana

salicaceae

Here is one of mine in summer 2010:

From Garden August 2010

By late summer, 2011:

From Garden July 2011

Unfortunately, about a month later, during a very wet period, it died from Armillaria (mushrooms were spotted on the roots as was white mycelial fans and rhizomorphs). This is what happens when you cut down oak trees, but still have their decaying root systems near newly planted plants.

I planted another one in a different location, where it is doing well.
