Weekend Trivia -- Sunday

OK, no more Mr. Nice Guy. You are all getting entirely too smart and it's time to make you work for your answers - no extra clues on this one.

If you take the vowels, in order, in a certain celebrity's name, you will get part of the refrain of a well known children's song. Who is the celebrity?

That should keep you busy for a while.

uhoh...and here I am with so much to do today! Well, I'll put it off for a bit while I play with this!

 o
so easily amused...

Okay, so far I have come up with Robert's lesser-known, talk-show-hosting cousin Regis DeNiro, unsuccessful designer Bessie Dior, Italian nighingale Jennie Lindo, and world-famous British cheesemaker Eddie Stilton.

Teehee. Off to walk the pups and think some more-not that you'll want to hear any more like the above!!! Waiting for hints from the rest of you.

Laughing here, Cynthia. You're a hoot.

Oi!! Indeed, I'm with Cynthia!! Off to chop more leaves, and put more gardens under a nice cozey cover.

Nancy.

Mmmmmm, I'm leaning towards one name but will hang around looking for hints.

Well this is teaser! Just finished covering all beds with a good thick layer of seaweed....looks terrible but I know they love it, poor, poor little very old car!
Now back to the question, no idea, how about a hint Annette?, M

RE: Weekend Trivia -- Sunday

TM - this is cruel and unusual punishment. I have just spent too much time going through celeb sites. Yuck. We need a hint!!!

Nancy.

RE: Weekend Trivia -- Sunday

LOL Martha, I'm way off in left field with this one. I think TM has stumped me this time.

This is what I came up with... With MacDonalds still firmly planted in my mind(craving their french fries, you think?) I thought of the children's song Old MacDonald had a Farm, you know the ol' EI EI O. Then the Ronald MacDonald Clown came to mind but that didn't pan out either (the vowel thing). That's as far as I got.

Annette :(

Okay, spent the afternoon outside (high 60s and sunny) expecting to come in and find all sorts of wonderfully clever and hopefully obvious hints from all of you and what do I find? Nothing-LOL. eieiowas all I could think of as well, but that is as far as I got.

TM-please-a hint...or are you enjoying this too much? Teehee.

Cynthia

A E I O U ( don't know much about celebrities) except some

MULTI MILLIONAIRE

How about a country.......UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

I think this one will stump me too.

Libby

Bwahahahahahahahaha.

 o
RE: Weekend Trivia -- Sunday

Is this A SERIOUS question?

Libby ;)

 o
RE: Weekend Trivia -- Sunday

Thought I had it figured out with Jennifer Aniston -
Eli...
Emily...
My brain and body have been overworked this weekend - this is just too much for my feeble mind.

 o
RE: Weekend Trivia -- Sunday

It's the "part of the refrain" that's the worst! Is he saying it may be ieio, or eiei?

But, I have my answer: the celebrity is Leif Eri(c)kson. He's a celebrity, so there, I deserve stars. :P

 o
RE: Weekend Trivia -- Sunday

That "part of the refrain' threw me, too! Way to go stage rat-you managed to get the whole refrain in with your guess-AND it's a real person, unlike mine.

TM, stop laughing and give us the answer!!!! This is making me nuts. LOL.

 o
RE: Weekend Trivia -- Sunday

First, the refrain. Wouldn't you consider the whole refrain to be
Old MacDonald had a farm
E-I-E-I-O
?

So you were right if you were looking for E-I-E-I-O. I was going to say half the refrain, but that didn't seem exactly right to me.

So who is it?

Canadians, you shoulda got it. . . Celine Dion.

This may have been frustrating for you all, but I have to confess that I have enjoyed the heck out of it. I guess I have an evil streak.

Libby, I see that you were interpreting vowels, in order, in a different way. That would make it tougher.

for everyone for making me laugh this weekend.

TM

RE: Weekend Trivia -- Sunday

Another great weekend's entertainment TM, you certainly got us all this time, good on you.
I wouldn't have thought of Celine if I had two weeks to think about it. I was stuck in MacDonalds mode LOL.

Annette

 o
RE: Weekend Trivia -- Sunday

GREAT! Love it. I never would have come up with her either-I was more on movie types. Despite that evil laugh, thanks, TM. Can't wait until next weekend!

 o
RE: Weekend Trivia -- Sunday

This was my worksheet:
eieio

edie
eddie
debi
ernie
sergio

ike io

and then I went away for hours and got Leif because the vowels are together. I never would have gotten Celine.

There's an actor named Leif Erickson, which I didn't know before. He was in on the waterfront. Sounds like a celebrity to me?????

That was fun, and a very Will Shortz-like puzzle, TM! I'm usually stumped by those (or intend to work on them after the radio show ends, then don't).

 o
RE: Weekend Trivia -- Sunday

ike io...very funny!

 o
RE: Weekend Trivia -- Sunday

I even looked up Io, to find out if that moon was named after a person, like so many features on Luna. Nope, Io was a deity, no first name :(
