Hi back at you Leasa, long time no (see). There's still a few of us older guys (not referring to age) hanging around cottage, it's my home away from home :). I just got back from an afternoon of Christmas shopping with DD, when you go with her it's power shopping, oh well I got a lot done but boy my dogs are sore. Power walking at 73 ain't for sissies. Glad to see you back with us, you all ready for Christmas? I've just got started.

We just had the worst spring/summer/fall that I can recall, off 10 tomato plants I was lucky if I got 12 tomatoes. I grew Cherokee Purple this year, what we had were really tasty so will plant them again next year, fingers crossed for a better growing season next year.

Glad to hear from you! DH and I went power shopping today, got a big chunk of it done. Good thing! There's a big storm heading our way for tomorrow.

Sorry about your tomatoes. I wish I weighed ours, there were 4 banana boxes full when it started to rain for days and I figured I better pick the before the got rot from the rain. We picked a lot before that also.

Hello, Leasa! I am still around intermittently. We had a very long period of high winds, then a long period of 100 degree weather here last summer. The unusual weather did not do good things for my garden.

Next year I'll have a handyman build some sort of shade structure with a top and a side to it. That should also help to break the force of the wind. I got the idea from something I saw in MotherEarth News. It is called a Green Box, a three sided, roofed box covered with shade cloth.
