What happens when I buy too early

I don't think I've ever purchased perennials this early, now I'm running out of places to put them - in the house that is. This is the result of two nursery visits and one church plant sale over the past couple of weeks. It's cold and wet again today.

The clematis had a tiny bud on it when it first came, now look (up against window). So far I also have in the tray geraniums, three white Siberian Iris, Golden Allysum, more King Solomon's Seal.

In this photo a pink "Magical Encounter" iris, white hardy geranium "Biokovo", cheddar pinks (dianthus) "Double Spotty", two Cup and Saucer vine, two scented geraniums, and two "Mortgage Lifter" tomato plants. Please ignore the muddy sink I forgot to wash before I snapped the photo!
