nice photos and it looks like a gorgeous established wisteria. i'll keep my fingers crossed! it dropped into the 20s here for a couple of nights a week or so ago and i thought a lot of my plants were doomed. but the sun came out the next morning and warmed things up...so the frost didn't do a lot of damage.

What a pretty combination. I'm a sucker for white flowers, and those two shrubs are really covered.
I hope the wisteria pulls it off this year.

I am always surprised by how long some things take to get going. I love the exochorda The Pearl. You never see it for sale here; don't know why.

My neighbor has wisteria for 60 feet or so down her drive on a farm fence. What a sight.

Beautiful photos! I just planted 'The Bride' this past weekend. It's a small one, so I'll be sure to give it plenty of time to come into its own based on what you said. BUT, now you're making me think I should put it closer to my Wayfaring tree!! They look very nice complementing each other in your photo.

thyme - close is a relative thing. They are probably at least 10-15' apart - if you look closely you can see that there is a path in the middle distance between them. But a common angle of view as you walk past the bed (the view in the picture) puts one in the foreground and one in the background. So you don't need to put them physically close to each other, just place them so that in a viewpoint you often use you see both of them in the same 'frame'. This was a 'happy accident' combination. But, because I have a lot of white in the garden, there are lots of opportunities for such accidents to occur :-) When 'accidents' like that happen I look for lessons to be learned to make planned combinations in the future. I like playing with color and try to make combinations where 'the whole is greater than the sum of the parts'. goldno1's vignette thread has a wonderful example of that.
