You are lucky! We have been overwhelmed with them and their damage. They are finally slowing down. The lifespan of 6 weeks or so seems like forever. I spray with Sevin but it doesn't always work it seems. We have trapped about 8 gallons so far.

I lost a lot of my peach crop and most of the blackberries to them. The roses have been devastated. I keep the sprayer handy but they still do their damage.

I had to spray with Sevin yesterday morning, too.
JPs and Grasshoppers have ruined everything in the yard - flowers, bushes and trees and the leaves of my veggies. All my leaf crops were ruined this year.
I found a lot of dead hoppers last evening, but not nearly as many as I hoped to find dead. I should have been able to scoop them up by the shovelsful.

Horrible destruction this year. Going to have to cut my hollyhocks down. Never had to do that before.

Wish I could keep guineas again and let my chickens run free. They absolutely kept the numbers of bugs and insects down next to nothing and no spraying.
