More daylilies-the late bloomers?

gardengranny2

As I have mentioned in previous posts, the weather has been very unusually wet and cool this year.

The plants have been doing very well with all the water and the cooler temps have kept things blooming for a longer period than in past years.

I have mums blooming already. They don't begin in a normal year until mid August.

The following are my late daylilies which also usually don't bloom until mid August.

All the rest of my daylilies continue to bloom strongly, except for 'Charles Johnston' which is completely finished.

While I always look forward to the new blooms, it makes me melancholy to know that they indicate the coming of the end of the "big" gardening season.

Enjoy the display!

Liz
