That is so lovely!
The whole bed is very showy and colorful and all the different leaf textures and leaf sizes make it so interesting. Looks like your bed goes all the way back to the barn. It sure has hidden the propane tank alright. If you hadn't mentioned it, I might not have see it!
I used to have a propane tank. What an eye-sore it was right next to my pretty house. Was hard to hide it because I couldn't plant shrubs or trees in front of it. It was just sitting out there in my yard naked as a jay bird in front of God and everybody! (hehehe)
I notice a lot of people around here plant cane breaks in front of theirs. I bet the propane guy just loves them!

Actually, behind the tank is a path and behind that is the fenced vegetable garden.

The area is really just a wild jumble and next year I must do something better. I can barely get back to the salvia!

The gas man has to access the tank by the path behind it. I know it must aggravate them but they haven't said anything.

If I elmininate this bed or really refine it, I won't have to move many perennials; it is mostly annuals. In the spring half is filled with poppies.

They are gorgeous! Please save some seeds for us this fall? I've not grown them and I would love too, now that I have PLENTY Of room for everything :)

I am definitely saving seeds from them. In fact I have already been collecting daylily seeds and some nicotiana seeds. I should have lots of these salvias to share.

Reminds me of my MIL. She always lined the long drive with tall red annual salvia. It's gorgeous. Thanks for the memories. gramma jan
