I made a garden buddy on Friday.

Even though I am now back to work, with 2 part-time jobs, I don't work Fridays. I took advantage of that to go and stock up with food for the next 2 weeks, so that I no longer need to stop on the way home almost every night, for lunch and dinner food. Because it was so #$@%* cold, I craved a nursery, or greenhouse. Near where I used to live, there was a nursery with a large greenhouse attached to the shop. It was a great escape in the winter. I am still learning my way around, here. Anyway, to make a short story long, I went to one nursery I discovered last Spring. The lady there, and I got chatting. She enquired what I was looking for, and I mentioned pink nigella. She acknowledged that was a tough one to find. She offered me a copy of the OCS catalogue, and said that any seeds that I wanted she would tag onto her order, and save me the shipping costs. OSC would not normally be my first choice, but saving money appeals to me, so I've been perusing the catalogue. We also got talking about seed saving and heritage seeds. It was the best part of my day!!

Nancy.

How fun!
Could be a good idea to have a friend at a nursery.

A friend, here, knows a person at L*wes and she is always offering her deals.

Nancy- That's great! Another person who likes to save seeds and collect heirlooms. What a great contact to have...and I'll bet she's got an eye out for your pink nigella :)

Nancy, a real bonus indeed. It's good to have a contact on the inside :), especially one who has the same interests as you.
The nurseries around here are just starting to bring in things. I picked up a very nice double Hellebore decently priced a couple of days ago. I only went for some seeds but you know how that goes LOL.
