80's sound nice when its 20 degrees or colder 24 / 7

From 80 to the 20's in a couple of days. Is that normal for your part of Texas?

From the 70's yesterday to 9F on this coming Tuesday. Brr! This has been a roller coaster winter!

That is a tad high for January. And we don't often get 20's. Most winter nights are above 32. With 49 being the night avg.
My cemetry whites iris have buds. My yellow bird of paradise tree has bloomed all winter. By this time last year we had had a couple killing freezes.

We are having an unusually mild streak here,the last 2 weeks in january, the first 2 weeks in february most years are our coldest. Fingers crossed this streak holds, if it doesn't there might be a lot of damage done as things are starting to pop.

The forcast is now 18 for tonight/early tomorrow. That is very cold for here. Wednesday's high is supposed to be 37.
Time for a pot of chili or pinto beans and cornbread.

We had a few very wonderful warm days, but it is supposed to be over this week. We haven't had the impressive snows that some of you have had to contend with, though.

We are expecting a monster snow storm to hit tomorrow.. It was pretty cold here today.

Ianna, stay safe and warm, heard on the news the military is flying in snowplows in preparation for the monster that's going to hit you. It looks like you're in for it, if you can keep in touch. This same storm is probably going to hit Nancy too, here it has turned chilly again but that's normal for this time of year.

Thanks Nancy. The thing is I work downtown and have to commute via train so if the snow hits us in the afternoon, and travel is affected, I might just find myself stuck downtown..

However - it's not like I've not been in snow storms before. I think they area calling it a monster because of it's span covering serveral states and provinces, but not because the amount of snow would be unusual for us here. Our cities are always equipped with snowplows. It's the highways that become dangerous - because it can be shut down. having said this, I hope everyone is not planning on travelling today or tomorrow.

I can't complain when I see what some of you are getting.
I don't plan on leaving home for the next few days.
