Isn't that something. Love the wire rim on the standards- it makes the white look so crisp! I got nice rhizomes from them last year.

Look into lasagna gardening or layer composting. If you just put down heavy layers of leaves, grass, newspaper, cardboard, etc. it will kill the grass/weeds beneath and worms will dig through and soften the soil. Some plant immediately thru the layers, others wait a year and plant once everything has decayed. You have enough space that you could certainly prepare some beds for planting next year, no tilling required. And this method preserves the "soil structure," according to the soil and compost forum gurus. I've done it and it works wonderfully.

Thank you! You know I've read that too awhile ago and forgot about it. I will do that, but I have that dreaded Bahia grass, I swear that stuff is from the devil himself. Unless of course you have cattle (and I don't) which then you would swear it came straight from the heavens! lol But the idea of more tilling really does hold me back, because the weeds come right back, it just makes millions of little plants instead of thousands.
